A Note from the President: Happy Holidays!

Hello Friends & Members, Partners, and Supporters:

On behalf of the Board of Directors and our team, we would like to wish you all a very Happy Holiday Season and New Year! As we say goodbye to 2021, despite the many challenging moments that have popped up in both our collective and personal lives, I do believe we are ending the year with vibrant hope. This hope will usher in a new energy of PRIDE that is going to move our community forward in a positive and promising new direction for everyone’s benefit.

The Chamber’s Board has its sights set on building a stronger statewide network that will unite and uplift our beautiful community, including making room for our supportive allies and welcoming new corporate Sponsors. In order to better serve our members, we have been hard at work planning and implementing changes that we believe are strategic for our members’ businesses, the local economy, and help to increase the LGBTQ+ community’s quality of life in New Jersey.

We are excited to share with you a series of new additions, happenings, and events – all of which are slated to be announced in the coming weeks of the New Year:

  • The NJ LGBT Chamber of Commerce has been undergoing a branding transformation over the last six months, complete with a new name, new look, and a newly-designed website.
  • We will also be announcing four new board members who have joined the NJ LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors. Each director is a volunteer from across the state who is bringing their professional expertise to further the Chamber’s reach and make your membership more valuable.
  • And, a very big news item is the announcement of our first-ever Executive Director who we’ve brought on as a dedicated paid staff member to build a brand new agenda to help build influence both politically and culturally within the state. One of the main goals of the ED will be to work with the Governor’s team to build more economic prosperity and resiliency for New Jersey’s LGBT community. As a result, we hope to see more state contracts set-aside for business owners who are certified LGBTBEs.
  • Finally, we will also be announcing four signature events that we expect to hold annually to celebrate our diverse community.

That’s a whole lot of new! However, our commitment to our Chamber’s original mission and values remains steadfast. In fact, you can say our vision has widened and is clearer than ever, which is why we are so excited to continue building this Chamber alongside each of you, our valued members.

If 2021 was the year of the reassessment – then 2022 is the year for taking action and reaching goals. We hope to inspire you to take action in reaching your business and professional dreams. Everything is within your reach.

Warmest Regards,

Stephen P. Blazejewski
